August 2025 DIG Kenya Field Trip

Karibu Kenya!

DIG is thrilled to be hosting our 2025 field trip to Kenya this August.

Trip Dates: August 1st – 9th

(+1 day on each side for international travel e.g. Departing the U.S. on July 31st, arriving into Nairobi August 1st. Leaving Nairobi the evening of August 9th)

In addition to an exclusive introduction to DIG’s work in the field, the timing of this year’s trip offers the rare and exciting opportunity to witness one of the most sought after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts around the world, the Great Migration.

So come join us in the gardens to learn from the vibrant communities of farmers DIG works with every day. Walk the shores of Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. And experience the thrill of witnessing the Great Migration on an intimate three-night eco-friendly bush camp safari in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara.

If this is an opportunity you’ve been dreaming about, don’t wait to sign-up; registration is first-come-first-serve!

Witnessing Hope in Action: A Field Trip to Kenya

August 26, 2024

“Seeing food insecurity solved one person at a time and witnessing how those efforts multiply is truly hope becoming reality.” Tom McGuire DIG’s Board Chair, Tom McGuire, recently traveled to Kenya with eight other participants to observe DIG’s transformative work up close. In his refections, he highlights the profound impact DIG’s Core Programs are having on participants. What stood out most to him was DIG’s ability to move the mark around social cohesion. Trellis Fellow in Kenya

September 25, 2015

This year DIG was awarded our 2nd Trellis Fund Award from UC Davis. The Trellis Fund is an arm of the UC Davis Horticulture Innovation Lab. Trellis works on a smaller scale than the lab, selecting students to partner with host organizations on the ground for a few months before traveling there for two-to-three-week projects. This year, 14 different students traveled to nine different countries including one to Kenya with DIG.   DIG was matched with Belinda Richardson — an international
