Position: Finance Officer
Organization: Development in Gardening (DIG-Kenya)

Are you a finance professional passionate about driving meaningful change in rural communities? DIG-Kenya is looking for a Finance Officer to join our mission of growing health, wealth, and belonging through regenerative gardens.
Development in Gardening (DIG-Kenya) is a registered Kenyan NGO with a mission to improve the nutrition and livelihoods of uniquely marginalized communities through agroecology. We are seeking a competent and dynamic individual to fill the role of Finance Officer. This person will play a critical role in ensuring financial accountability and transparency, supporting the delivery of our community-centered programs in Homa Bay and beyond.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum CPA II certification.
- Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, statutory deductions (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE), and
- NGO regulatory environment.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in financial accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Proficiency in computerized accounting systems, particularly QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding and experience of donor-funded accounting, grant management, financial monitoring, and controls.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prepare for both internal and external audits.
- Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; experience in report writing and presentations.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support program teams in budgeting and financial reporting.
