FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Top Atlanta Chefs Unite for Cocktails & Castoffs, a unique celebration of food cultures and community to support the work of DIG (Development in Gardening)

ATLANTA — September 20, 2026 — For all that separates us, food draws us closer. Our food traditions – what we grow, what we eat, even what we throw away – survive generations and are always at the heart of a culture.

In a time when cuts to foreign aid and international conflicts pose increasingly dire threats to food systems throughout the world, it’s critical we explore how local food heritages can offer a hopeful pathway forward.

Now in its 20th year, DIG, an Atlanta-based global nonprofit, partners with communities across Kenya, Uganda, and Senegal to strengthen farmer-led food systems that protect generational knowledge.

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Atlanta food lovers are invited to Cocktails & Castoffs, DIG’s signature fundraising event and a unique celebration of cultures, traditions, and community in Atlanta’s historic Summerhill neighborhood. As Chef Demetrius Brown prepares to open the highly anticipated Heritage Supper Club, DIG is proud to partner with him for an evening that brings together some of Atlanta’s top chefs to celebrate the love they put into their dishes, the stories and passions cooked into their food.
